the Rochester area) was Cecilia Ransom... she was part of the Unity Rehabilitation and Neurology group, and we saw her at the office at 2655 Ridgeway Ave, Suite 420... I don't know if she has any other locations
or not, but it might be worth checking out...

In any case, I hope that Ron can find SOME relief....!

He may not be also able to get surgery not so much for those reasons but because he is the 'sole caregiver' for his Aunt... there are somethings I just can't help her with (diabetis injections, for example). So he's got some app'ts this week to discuss options with his neuro surgeon.

age, there was not really any limit to how many I could have -- but that
for younger people (55 or so?) they would limit the number and/or
frequency of injections.

I can say that they gave me very good temporary relief -- two to three
months, but eventually the back pain in lower back returned, albeit
never so bad that it was not manageable.

Actually, they are also refered to as dry needle 'injections'... (it
comes back to me as I type about it)... very much related to
acupuncture, but using the sort of needles that are usually used for injections....

I have gotten steroid injections, guided to the spot by xray. That
doctor told me that at my age, there was not really any limit to how
many I could have -- but that for younger people (55 or so?) they
would limit the number and/or frequency of injections.

MJ was in her later 50's at the time, but had been getting the steroids
for quite a few years already in the joints... we were going in every 6
weeks or so, and getting at least two injections each visit (left knee
and right shoulder, right hip and left shoulder, etc... whichever was
the worst at the time, but trying to rotate it between the 6 sites...)
But that really was too much steroids to be getting, and they did look
for some alternatives for those shots, too... Voltaren cream for the
shoulders and hips, and some other sort of injection for the knees....

I can say that they gave me very good temporary relief -- two to three months, but eventually the back pain in lower back returned, albeit
never so bad that it was not manageable.

They'd work well for MJ, too, often faster than average, but always
would wear off eventually.... My mom was getting the steroid shots in
her hands for arthritis... they worked well for her, and she'd go more
like 6 months often without needing an update....

Not sure about pressure point injections...unless it means where you
hold your fingers to stop bleeding. As for the steroid shots, those
"jack me up" to where I can't sleep at night.
