    Another thing I find interesting is that these transitioning planets seem to be only noticeable when the angle of the orbit around its sun aligns at the same horizontal as our own.

    Well, think about the distances involved. It's sort of like me standing on my porch waving at you. What's the likely hood of you being able to see that without a lot of specialty equipment set up pointing in the exact right direction at the exact right time?
